A legacy of selfless service
The Kauffmann family charity began with a simple yet powerful belief: a life well lived is one poured out in service to others. We honor the inspiring legacies of George E. Kauffmann and Michael Kauffmann, continuing their tireless dedication to uplifting the vulnerable, supporting local initiatives, and fostering a spirit of generosity within our Keansburg, New Jersey community.
George E. Kauffmann: a life poured out
At its heart stood George E. Kauffmann — father of ten, successful business owner, proud Army veteran, and former Mayor of Keansburg. George believed leadership was about action, not just titles. His extraordinary feats included swimming around Manhattan twelve times to raise funds for charitable causes and treading water for 24 hours to support veterans affected by Agent Orange. He quietly donated bulletproof vests to protect local police officers, dedicated his time to Camp Happiness serving the blind, and championed dignity for all as a steadfast supporter of the Special Olympics. Whether in public office, in business, or in the community, George lived as a humanitarian first, inspiring countless lives.
Michael Kauffmann: carrying the torch
That same spirit of courage and generosity lives on through Michael Kauffmann — father of four, dedicated business owner, and committed philanthropist. Michael’s character has always been defined by his giving and his willingness to act when it matters most, including bravely rescuing a woman from a burning vehicle. He has continued the family’s tradition of supporting local charitable organizations with both resources and personal commitment, believing that real impact begins right at home, within our community. Together, their lives tell a powerful story of service rooted in faith, family, and fearless compassion.

Our unwavering mission
The Kauffmann Memorial family charity exists to carry forward this powerful legacy. We aim to uplift the vulnerable, actively support local initiatives, and remind future generations that true success is measured not by what we gain, but by what we give. We are dedicated to partnering with local businesses seeking to give back to their communities. Our 501c organization donates directly to families in need, provides scholarships to deserving Keansburg High School seniors, and supports vital community organizations like volunteer fire departments, EMTs, soup kitchens, and religious organizations. Your involvement helps us make a tangible difference where it counts most.
"When you give to the needy, don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing."
